A parade of iconic figures from visual arts march on at the Esplanade Annexe!
Inspired by carnival parades, this modern parade is a sculptural and ambulatory work consisting of 10 figures from the art of great visual artists from the early 20th century, including René Magritte, Max Ernst, Griogio de Chirico, Fernand Léger, Edvard Munch, Hans Arp, Victor Brauner and Kazimir Malevich.
These figures are happily and freely drawn, projected in three-dimensional space and created into animated sculptures. They come alive in the form of a parade, like a strange course in art history, marching to an interpretation of Ravel’s iconic orchestral piece Boléro.
