If an overseas holiday feels tiring just from the thought of it, then stay. We’ve rounded up some of the best staycation ideas for the year-end holidays 2016 in Singapore. Many of these also offer fun staycation deals, and not merely hotel stays, too – they come with family packages and activities.

Over at Amara Sanctuary in Sentosa, there are some family activity packages you can book with your stay – so you’ve got your accommodation AND action sorted out.

Newly-launched Family Rooms at Furama RiverFront make for a worry-free staycay, as part of their #FuramaKids offerings. These rooms come with two queen beds, and equipped with child-friendly amenities for kids aged 12 years and below.

Kids can go wild (which they will) at playroom PAWS at level 1, for juniors aged five to 11. Jump on a trampoline, build their dream castle with blocks, go artsy on the black or whiteboards, and watch cartoons. Babysitting services are available at a fee and can be arranged by booking a day in advance.

Dine on international cuisine at The Square@Furama, where kids below four years old eat from their kids’ menu. Tykes@The Square, a dedicated play area for kids, will keep the little ones occupied with cartoon screenings, activity sheets and free-play toys.

This coastal playground by the sea is a pretty self-contained staycation destination. There are 25 resort-style suites and villas and plenty of recreational activities on the premises. CSC@Changi is good for large families, with its Premier Villa accommodating up to 12 guests.

Take your pick of family-friendly facilities and activities, which include tennis, karaoke, bowling, a water playground, swimming pool, rooftop BBQ and more.

Families with babies can request for baby cot. Families with elderly can also request for a villa on the ground floor.

Oasia Hotel Novena has a boutique hotel sensibility with the offerings of a big-hotel chain. Amenities include 24-hour room service, gym, swimming pools with resort-like wood decks, infinity pool (for club room guests), and more. Relax and unwind in the designer interior lined with woody and earthy tones. Access to transport is easy (it’s near Novena MRT) and malls are plentiful in the area.
