Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017 is a quarterly event held around Singapore Sports Hub’s venues. Organised by Singapore Sports Hub, it aims to bring together the community and families through sports and other lifestyle experiences.

Here are 7 things you should know about the upcoming Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017 edition.

1. Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017 – When and Where

Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017 edition takes place on Saturday and Sunday, 17 and 18 June 2017 between 10 am to 9 pm. This coincides with the Father’s Day weekend.

Activities will be held around the OCBC Arena and Arena Park areas, close to Stadium MRT Exit B.

Admission to Sports Hub Community Play Day is free but the amusement rides and carnival games at Arena Park are chargeable.

2. Classic Amusement Park Theme

The theme of the June edition of Sports Hub Community Play Day is Good Ol’ Wonderland. This echoes a time from the 1920s to the 1980s when amusement parks such as New World and Great World were a source of entertainment for the public.

In fact, the site the Singapore Sports Hub now occupies used to be where the Wonderland Amusement Park was located up till 1988, hence Good Ol’ Wonderland.

What this means that you can expect old school amusement rides such as spinning tea cups, swing chairs and more at Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017. There will be carnival games too. These rides and games are chargeable.

3. Free Inflatables Galore

Head over to OCBC Arena Hall 1 where bouncy inflatables will be set up.

You know that it will be fun when the inflatables have names such as Bouncer, The Plunge!, Hungry Dragon and Penalty Kick. Admission is free but a minimum age of 2 or 4 years old applies to go on them. Check onsite for details.

4. More Free Things to Do

Carnival ActivitiesThere will be plenty of free activities at Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017.

At the OCBC Arena Lobby, you can take a picture at an instant photo booth, get a balloon sculpture or take part in arts & craft activities. Kids can get their faces painted and from 7 pm to 9 pm, they will be using illuminated face paint for that extra glow. Also at the OCBC Arena will be a heritage gallery by the National Heritage Board.

Glowing ZumbaVisitors can also look forward to kampung games, a glowing zumba session (8 pm on both days) and sporty activities such as a kids dance class workshop (18 Jun, 4.15 pm to 4.40 pm) and a BounceDanceFit Fitness Class (17 Jun, 3 pm to 3.45 pm).

5. Go on a Guided Tour of Singapore Sports Hub

Join in a free guided tour during the Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017. These will be held at 1.30 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm. Places are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis.

6. Get Bubbled Up

Bubbles, Sports Hub Community Play Day June 2017Bubbles are great fun! Have a popping good time at a bubble play area at Arena Park from 10 am to 6 pm.

After playing with the bubbles, watch a Bubble Show at the OCBC Arena Hall 1. The Bubble Show takes place on 17 June at 7.15 pm and 18 June at 3 pm.

7. Redeem a Turn at a Claw Machine

When you arrive, pick up a programme booklet from the Entry Arch outside Stadium MRT Exit B or at the information booth outside Arena Hall 2. Complete 10 different activities (6 paid activities at Arena Park and 4 free activities at OCBC Arena Hall 1) to get stamps on the booklet in order to redeem a token to claim a sure-win prize at a claw toy machine at the OCBC Arena Lobby.
