The main themes of Story Keepers is that of transformation, spirituality, and identity

The main themes of Story Keepers is that of transformation, spirituality, and identity, offering fresh interpretations of traditional stories. It explores how ancient tales and folklore have shaped, and evolved, yet continue to resonate in the modern world.

The exhibition presents the works of five contemporary artists: C.K Koh, Kazuyuki Futagawa, Maoka Ueda, Masatake Kozaki, and Yoshiaki Nakamura.

The works are beautifully presented and they captivate the viewer.

Story Keepers: Tales and Traditions Exhibition

Amongst the works is C.K Koh’s signature Box Head character. This was developed as a response to the myth of Pandora’s Box and symbolises the search for hidden hope amidst the monstrous, grotesque, and imperfect aspects of the world.

There are also works by Kazuyuki Futagawa. These explore the cycles of life and the theory of renewal – a concept foundational of many myths – and invites the viewer to contemplate the relationship between everlasting nature and temporal human kind.
