A train has been spotted at one of the most unlikely places – at the Waterway Banks Playground in Punggol.
Okay, okay. It isn’t exactly a train but more a playground that has been designed to take on a train’s form.
This is a new playground that replaces an earlier playground that used to have climbing nets and even sound discs.

The main Waterway Banks Playground area can be found in front of Blocks 673A Edgefield Plains and beside the Punggol Waterway.
The playground consists of two large play structures.
Brightly coloured yellow and orange, the first play structure consists of a raised platform and a maze of bridges that kids can use to criss-cross the play zone.
It has multiple climbing apparatus including climbing poles with handholds and footholds.
Amongst the features at this section of the Waterway Banks playground are two low slides that are more suitable for younger children.
Older kids can make their way towards one of the elevated platforms where there is a twisting tube slide.
This playground equipment looks like it has a bird theme, with a bird’s head at one end and the motif of feathers along the playground panels.
The second play structure at this Waterway Banks Playground is designed to look like a train. Behind the facade of the train, there is a raised platform.
Kids can make their way up the cow-catcher at the very front and crawl through a blue tube to enter into the locomotive.
Making their way further into the colourful train, there are “carriages” that finally end in a slide at the rear of the train playground.

In addition to the two main structures, kids can also enjoy other pieces of play equipment likes swings and little spinners at the Waterway Banks Playground.
There are also other playgrounds around Waterway Banks. For example, head over to the green space between 672C and 673B and you will find another small playground structure.
