Located just beside the scenic Wetland Courtyard at Mandai Wildlife East is The Courtyard, a restaurant that is currently serving buffet dinners but will serve a la carte in the coming months. The restaurant can be found at Basement 1, where the bus bays serving Singapore Zoo and River Wonders can be found.

The Courtyard is located at the basement under the zoo’s multi-storey car park. To reach it, you can head towards the zoo’s taxi stand and drop off point and take the escalator down one level to the basement.

At the moment, The Courtyard is only open in the evening from 6 pm to 10.30 pm. However, in the coming months, it will expand its opening hours to cover other meals of the day. It is amongst the dining options and establishments that form up the Mandai Wildlife East public area.

Dining at The Courtyard at Mandai Wildlife East near the zoo

We recently paid the restaurant a visit for dinner and to try out the food there.

Dining at The Courtyard

Dining at The Courtyard

The first impression of The Courtyard is how large the dining hall is. It is designed to accommodate large hungry crowds.

It currently serves up two types of dinner buffets: an Asian buffet from 6 pm to 8 pm and an Indian buffet from 8.30 pm to 10.30 pm.

The Asian buffet is priced at $50 for adults and $39 for children.

The Indian buffet is priced at $33 for adults and $23 for children.

From what we understand, the Indian buffet spread has more vegetarian options (although it does have meat) compared to the Asian buffet spread.

There is an opening special of 20% off the buffet dinner till 31 July 2025.

The Courtyard Food Review

We were there for the Indian buffet. When we first arrived, the restaurant looked quite empty. However, after a while, large number of hungry diners arrived – a tour group that had just completed their visit to the Night Safari

The buffet at The Courtyard included some refreshing cucumbers and salads for starters.

There were also soups available.

Non-vegetarian options at the Indian buffet include Chicken Curry and Fish Masala with Tomatoes.

Mixed Vegetables

Other dishes included Mixed Vegetables and Patta Gobi Matar.

Briyani rice and tandoori naan were also available as part of Mandai Wildlife East’s The Courtyard’s food spread.

gulab jamun

For desserts, there were fruits and gulab jamun for a sweet treat.

Drinks at The Courtyard, Singapore Zoo & Night Safari

There is iced water available as part of the buffet. However, if you want some other drinks such as soft drinks, there is a drink menu that you can order from. There is a choice of non-alcoholic drinks such as Coke, Coke Zero and Sprite ($5), as well as alcoholic beverages like Tiger and Heineken Beer ($12 per bottle) and wine ($16 per glass).

The Courtyard Restaurant Review

Overall, the food was nice even though there wasn’t a huge variety. As a restaurant located at major tourist attraction in Singapore, it is not to be unexpected that The Courtyard’s buffet feels like it is priced at a premium. Having said that, we appreciated the opening special discount and it is a convenient spot to grab a meal after a day out at Singapore Zoo or when visiting the Night Safari. And if you really wish to get your money’s worth, you can stay and eat for the entire two hours of the buffet duration!

We look forward to what The Courtyard at Mandai Wildlife East will offer and how their menu will change when it opens up for breakfast and lunch in the future.
