Rose Romance is back with an air of timeless love and legendary tales at the Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome. Featuring 15,000 roses from 65 varieties, this year’s Rose Romance draws in the British culture and the story of King Arthur for a burst of colourful inspiration.
Rose Romance at Gardens by the Bay
The centrepiece of Rose Romance 2025 is a recreation of the Caernarfon Castle in Wales. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is said to have inspired the mythical kingdom of Camelot.
If you are looking for King Arthur, you can take a wander around the beautiful roses at the Flower Field where different varieties of roses are in bloom.

The Legend of King Arthur
The tale of King Arthur, a quintessential British legend, provides the inspiration for the backdrop of Rose Romance 2025.
Venture into the castle and take a seat at the famous Round Table (which looks rather small in the recreation at the Flower Dome) where King Arthur’s knights gathered.
Then head over to the throne area and walk up the step to pose for a picture while seated regally on the throne.
If you head over to the right of the main display, you will come across a scene with sword in the stone. You can easily miss this spot but just keep a look out for the knight in armour keeping vigil beside it.
Another Arthurian spot that you can keep a look out for is the figure of Merlin peering intently into his book of spells.
While these spots make for fun photos, they do look a bit cartoonish. However, that’s probably because it is hard to replicate a medieval castle within the confines of the Flower Dome.
British Icons at the Flower Dome
For more photo opportunities with the brilliant roses, there are other picture points as well.
At the entrance to the Flower Dome, you can sit and pose in front of a recreation of a Georgian mansion with British guards, decked out in their bright red uniforms, on either side.
Look out for a display of traditional Welsh love spoons for the display. These ornate spoons date back to the seventeenth century, and were traditionally handcrafted by young men as tokens of love for their other half.
On the way out of the Flower Dome, take a picture with other British icons such as the London bus, a red letter box and red phone booth.
Roses in Bloom
Do also see if you can spot four rose hybrids that are making their debut at Gardens by the Bay. These are the
- Rosa ‘Amadeus’, a vigorous climber with deep red, lightly scented blooms;
- Rosa ‘Bianco’, a compact patio rose adorned with a profusion of pure white pompon-style flowers;
- Rosa ‘Marchenzauber’, also known as Fairytale Magic, this creamy pink floribunda rose with an apricot centre enchants with its strong, sweet, and fruity fragrance; and
- Rosa ‘Violette Parfumée’, prized for its large violet-mauve flowers and award-winning scent. It received the Royal National Rose Society’s Fragrance Award for its rich, sweet floral notes with subtle spice.
