
From 22 September till 25 November, the Little India Light-up 2018 will illuminate the streets of the historic district in celebration of Deepavali or the Festival of Lights which falls on 6 November 2018.
The Little India Light-up 2018 marks the 30th anniversary of the annual light-up. When the light-up first started in 1988, it lasted for just 30 days. In 2015, the length of the light-up was extended to 50 days and now in 2018, it runs for 60 days.

During the Little India Light-up 2018, Serangoon Road and Race Course Road will be dressed up in brilliant colours in the evening.

Other Festive Activities in Little India
Other festive activities taking place during this period include the Deepavali Festival Village. This will be held from 27 September to 6 November 2018 along Campbell Lane and Hastings Road. Festive goods such as ornamental decorations, cookies and sweet delicacies will be on sale at this bazaar.
Other events being held in conjunction with the festive light-up include a presentation of the tales of Deepavali and a Flavours of Deepavali culinary experience at the Indian Heritage Centre.
Those interested to learn more about the historic precinct can join in a Little India Heritage Trail which starts from the Indian Heritage Centre and ventures out to Little India’s historical landmarks and other places of interest.
A Little India Mural trail will also be for those interested in discovering more about Little India through the art and the colourful murals found around the precinct.
Other activities include a Little India Playstreet that will be held along Campbell Lane on selected days. Visitors to the Little India Playstreet will be able to try out traditional games.
