
Take part in fun eco-themed activities, go on a stamp rally, and learn about sustainability at five HDB Malls in Woodlands during this March school holidays and beyond.
From 13 to 29 March, 888 Plaza, Kampung Admiralty, Woodlands Mart, Woodlands North Plaza, and Vista Point will team up with a non-profit sustainability champion, Ground-up Initiative, to bring eco-themed experiences to the heartlands. It is a fun way for the entire family to enjoy hands-on fun while learning to care for the environment – plus there is a chance to win attractive prizes too! What a meaningful way to spend the school holidays with the kids.
In addition to picking up some new sustainability habits through hands-on activities and learning at the interactive educational booths, take part in the inter-mall stamp rally challenge to stand a chance to win unique eco experiences and supermarket vouchers!
Learn about Sustainability Through Play at Hands-on Activity Stations & Interactive Booths
Between 13 and 29 March, head down to the five HDB Malls to enjoy a total of eight different activity booths. Different activities will be available from 11 am to 8 pm at the various malls – a good reason to visit all five malls to try them all. Plus, the booths are free for all to enjoy!

Booth 1: Tag It, Transform It!
Transform wood off-cuts into one-of-a-kind bag tags! Experienced facilitators will teach you how to use heated tools to personalise wooden bag tags with names and designs. It is a fun way to get creative and convert scrap materials into treasured keepsakes.
Booth 2: Nature’s Touch – Potting for Well-being
Ever thought of starting your own home garden? If yes, this hands-on potting experience is for you. Learn about the benefits of keeping plants at home and how different potting mediums can impact healthy plant growth. Get tips on how to keep your green companions thriving. Whether you have green fingers or not, you will step away from this activity feeling inspired and ready to cultivate your own green sanctuary.
Booth 3: Closet Comebacks – Giving Fabrics a Second Life
Frustrated by fast fashion or your exploding wardrobe? You’re not alone – at this interactive booth, you’ll get to learn about the environmental impact of textile waste in Singapore. Be inspired by creative solutions as you browse the display of meaningful and functional upcycled items created from deadstock fabrics and old school uniforms.
Booth 4: Shred & Build – Plastic Recycling for a Green Future
Experience the magic of plastic recycling and watch a plastic shredding machine in action. Bring along with you some clean plastic waste and shred your plastic waste into fine chips, ready to be upcycled into new and useful objects. This is a unique chance to experience a practical lesson on which types of plastics can and cannot be recycled.
Booth 5: Glass to Ground – Building Pavements with Purpose
For more hands-on fun, experience glass crashing, where glass bottles are transformed into useful glass sand! Exchange your clean, used glass bottles for a glass crashing experience and watch as the “glass sand” gets mixed with cement and water to form cement slabs. The slabs will then be used for actual pavements at Ground-up Initiative’s new Kampung Kampus. Imagine how cool it will be to one day walk on pavements that were created from recycled glass that you crushed yourself!
Booth 6: Scraps to Soil – Composting for a Greener Future
One man’s trash is another’s treasure, and at this interactive booth, you can learn how to turn kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich gardening gold! Discover how composting reduces waste and turns fruit and vegetable scraps into homemade compost. You’ll also get to bring home a sample to kickstart your own composting journey.
Booth 7: Peels to Power – Nature’s Cleaner
Unlock another use for discarded fruit peels at this fun interactive booth. Learn how combining fruit peels with simple ingredients like sugar and water can turn them into a powerful natural cleaner that replaces chemical detergents. As a bonus, you will receive a bottle of ready-to-use Garbage Enzyme to bring home with you (while stocks last).
Booth 8: Page to Pledge – Crafting Change with Paper
Be inspired by beautifully crafted lifestyle items made from recycled paper. With a bit of creativity and a spark of inspiration, there is really so much that can be done to upcycle paper waste into both functional and decorative items.
Inter-mall Stamp Card Challenge
For even more fun, go on a sustainability stamp rally and stand a chance to win more exciting eco experiences!
Simply visit any of the five participating HDB malls, follow and like the mall’s Facebook page to redeem a stamp rally card at the event and start earning stamps to complete the card.
Here’s how you can earn all four stamps needed to complete the card:
- Visit a participating mall and collect a stamp from the event booth
- Participate in any one experiential booth (either Tag It, Transform It! or Nature’s Touch) at Kampung Admiralty
- Participate in any one booth activity at any other participating mall besides Kampung Admiralty
- Bring selected recyclables (at least three clean plastic containers or glass bottles) to any participating mall
Be among the first 20 participants to successfully complete the stamp card and win a pair of tickets for unique eco experiences at Ground-Up Initiative plus supermarket vouchers.
The unique eco experiences to be won include 10 ‘Creative Wood Hanger Making’ workshops, where you can use wooden pallets and other upcycled craft materials to create a sustainable wood hanger; and 10 ‘Joy of Harvesting’ workshops, where you can experience being a farmer for a day.
