Stepping into 10| Scotts at the Grand Hyatt Singapore feels like your outdoorsy ang moh uncle-in-law just renovated his weekend forest vacation home, and has invited your family to his luxurious wooden cabin.
The setting is grand yet exceptionally cozy, defined by warm wood textures, spacious seating, and comfortable lighting—an ideal sanctuary for an unhurried indulgence away from the bustle of Orchard Road.
Grand Hyatt Singapore’s 10|Scotts’ Afternoon Tea

Served in a pleasing space with waterfall views and homely interiors, this afternoon tea experience distinguishes itself not only through its serene atmosphere but also by offering an appetising semi-buffet service that is combined with refined tableside presentation.

The service begins with a welcome drink of refreshing Saicho Jasmine sparkling tea. While a small but entirely adequate selection of savoury buffet items is available, the sweet treats are presented on an elegant two-tiered stand.
A Generous Spread of Savoury and Sweet Delights
The Grand Afternoon Tea at 10| Scotts uniquely elevates the savoury portion of the tea, moving beyond traditional finger sandwiches.
Guests are invited to indulge in a curated range of cheeses from Le Freres Marchand and a selection of freshly sliced charcuterie, accompanied by olives, chutneys, and nuts. This expansive spread transforms the savoury course into a sophisticated, light luncheon.
Among the smaller, crafted bites, the Chef’s Signature ASC Seafood Vol-au-Vent—a delicate puff pastry cradle filled with prawns, crab, and rich seafood bisque—is a must-try. Although a little salty to our tastes, the seafood was fresh and this warm soup hit the spot.
If seafood bisque is not your kind of thing, you are sadly like my bestie, but good news! The refreshing Gazpacho is a very worthy alternative to the bisque, and served in a little teacup, was easier ingested.
We also liked the grilled Barramundi served with a tomato-based sauce, which was tender and flaky. Another classic, the ASC Smoked Salmon preparation with horseradish cream and capers was a delight to indulge in.
Scones, with a nod to local traditions
No afternoon tea is complete without scones, and this is where 10| Scotts acknowledges its local setting. The freshly baked scones (no unlimited servings, unfortunately) – two kinds: plain and with raisins – are served warm and golden, but the real star is the accompaniment.
If you have read my review of the St. Regis’ afternoon tea experience, you will know that scones make or break the experience for me. The Grand Afternoon Tea at the Grand Hyatt does not disappoint in this area, the rich clotted cream somehow highlighting the light buttery flavour of the scones.
There are two kinds of jam. The kaya (made in-house, I presume) is a light and fragrant version of the local jam, but the scones truly stand out when slathered with clotted cream and dollops of raspberry jam.
Moving to the sweets, the selection offers a classic European finish. The airy Citrus Pavlova was a little too sweet, but melted nicely in the mouth, providing a lighter contrast to the richer offerings of the Opera Cake and Chocolate Mousse.
The Opera Cake was slightly bitter due to the espresso flavouring, but coffee lovers will be happy with this dessert. The Chocolate Mousse was my favourite, because “not too sweet”, but also because the filling was a burst of tart cherries and crunchy hazelnuts.
The towering Vanilla Mile-Feuille looked very inviting, with its layers of flaky pastry and smooth, creamy custard. There was a Raspberry Tart, but it was…well, just a raspberry tart.
The Red Wine Poached Pear was the most intriguing item to me and honestly tasted like, forgive me, a fizzy grape soda, if a pear can even taste like that.
Service and Final Verdict
The experience is anchored by very attentive staff who ensure a seamless and pampered sitting. The food options are curated well and sustainability is integral to the choices offered. The welcoming glass of Saicho Jasmine sparkling tea was a nice touch, and there are nine Monogram teas to choose from.
We tried the Darjeeling Royal Flush and it was robust yet mellow. The sole caffeine-free option, the Pink Rose and Marigold tea, had a light, lingering floral scent that was very easy to drink.
10| Scotts at Grand Hyatt Singapore offers a grand yet cozy afternoon tea experience that is a fantastic choice for those seeking both good value and quality food.
