Craftsmen Coffee offers much more than just coffee. The cafe serves up a decent menu of mains and pasta alongside a selection of pastries.

We recently paid a visit to the Craftsmen Coffee outlet at Jelita Mall, one of the brands many outlets around the island, for lunch and were surprised by the experience.

Craftsmen Coffee has been around since 2014. Besides its coffee, which is makes use of single-origin coffee beans, it also serves up a brunch-style menu.

The outlet at Jelita Mall is located on the second floor of the revamped mall.

From the outside, it is hard to tell exactly how large the Craftsmen Coffee outlet is. However, once we stepped inside, we were welcomed by the warm hues of wood panels and a decently sized interior with a variety of seats.

The cafe had a relaxed ambiance with music playing in the background.

We took a menu from the counter before proceeding to settle down at a table. We could place our orders directly using a QR code at the table.

Craftsmen Coffee Food Menu

The menu at Craftsmen Coffee sits firmly in what we would consider the brunch type of menu.

You can get all-day breakfast plates like the Happy Breakfast ($23) which comes with grilled bacon, pork bratwurst, eggs, hash brown, along with Eggs Benedict ($17), smoked salmon & cream cheese ($19) and the like.

For those who wish for something more substantial, there are also mains like the Messy Beef Burger ($20) on the menu, plus a selection of pasta dishes as well.

We decided to order the Steak with Cacio e Pepe ($26) as well as a Pulled Pork Taco ($16).

It wasn’t too long of a wait before the beef steak with cacio e pepe arrived at the table.

Steak with Cacio e Pepe Review

We must say that the fusilli was well cooked to al dente heaven – at least for our palate. The sauce, simply made with black pepper and cheese, was a nice foil to the ribeye steak.

Pulled Pork Taco

We also ordered the Pulled Pork Taco.

Rather naively, we were expecting a typical pork taco, but that was not the case. Instead, the pulled pork was presented inside a large flatbread that served as a giant taco shell. Together with the pulled pork, there was also kimchi and avocado.

Pulled Pork Taco Review

Surprisingly, the flavours of the pulled pork and the kimchi worked well together. The avocado took it to another level by adding a creaminess to the mix. Our only feedback would be that the pulled pork was hot while the kimchi was cold. Perhaps it would have been nicer if the kimchi was grilled to match the pulled pork in terms of temperature level.

Apple Compote

We ended our meal with the Apple Compote ($16) which is French toast with apple cream cheese. This was an absolute delight with the soft bread coated stuffed with soft pieces of caramalised apple and cream cheese, dusted with delicate slices of almond. The Apple Cream Cheese French Toast was topped off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for. a devine touch.

Craftsmen Coffee beverages

This dessert went down well with a long black ($5.5 for a regular size). Craftsmen Coffee also serves Uji matcha by Matchaya.

Craftsmen Coffee Cafe

Craftsmen Coffee surprised us with its food menu. We enjoyed the flavours of the dishes and the coffee. In addition to the cooked food menu, you can also get pastries from the counter.

The outlet at Jelita Mall is a nice spot that was not too busy and it did not feel rushed at all on a weekday lunchtime.
