Its Young Learner English classes are aligned to Singapore’s Ministry of Education’s syllabus and taught by professional, well qualified and highly-experienced teachers.
Classes cater to children as young as pre-schoolers, as well as those at the Primary and Secondary levels:
- Early Years (3 to 6 years old) – The focus is on reading and early-literacy phonics, and features the British Council’s specially designed “Learning Time with Timmy” programme for Nursery 1 to Kindergarten 1, while Kindergarten 2 learners benefit from a course that prepares them for Primary 1.
- Lower Primary (7 to 9 years old) – Classes develop literary and writing skills, laying the foundation for students to become confident communicators and to excel in school.
- Upper Primary (10 to 12 years old) – Classes strengthen spoken and written skills while equipping students with exam strategies to succeed in the PSLE.

The British Council’s Open House in November & December
Another way to learn more about what the British Council offers is to sign up for one of the upcoming Open House events taking place in November and December 2025.
At the Open House, there will be free trial classes for children and teens, allowing them to interact with teachers and experience how lessons are conducted.
Parents can also participate in specially designed workshops that provide helpful insights into what and how their child is learning, as well as how they can play an active role in supporting their child’s development.

November / December 2025 Holiday Camps
If you are looking for fun and enriching ideas for the year-end holidays, look no further than the British Council’s November and December 2025 Holiday Camps, running weekly from 24 November to 19 December.
During each week-long camp, students will use English to explore exciting topics, build their knowledge, and develop communication skills in a nurturing environment. Fun activities at the holiday camps include games, crafts, hands-on experiments and group projects.
Different exciting themes, each tailored to different age groups, have been planned for each week. Examples of themes include:
- Early Years (N1 to K2) – “Animals” and “Transport”
- Primary 1 & 2 – “Let’s Eat” and “Dress Up”
- Primary 3 & 4 – “At the Museum” and “Film Time”
- Primary 5 & 6 – “Speak Up: A Debating and Presentation Skills Course” and “Writing for the Future: Fiction and Non-fiction Writing Skills”
- Secondary – “Our Digital Life – Safety, Cybercrime & Games” and “Project Planet – Our Changing World”
Beyond English, the British Council has partnered with Science Studios to offer a special add-on Science Camp. “Learn about our amazing world” is a five-day camp that will pique your child’s curiosity as they engage in hands-on experiments, interactive activities and quizzes. Primary School learners will develop Science skills such as MOE-standard Science keywords, answering techniques and more.
