The Jewel Rain Vortex is undoubtedly the star of the Jewel Changi Airport. At 40 metres tall, which is seven storey high, and with water falling down from the oculus in the roof to the basement, it is an impressive sight to behold. And when the sun goes down, the massive waterfall becomes the centrepiece of the Trip.com Light & Music Showcase.

Through a combination of light effects and sound, Jewel Changi Airport’s enormous indoor waterfall serves as the stunning focal point of the Jewel Rain Vortex light show.

It changes through a hue of mesmerising colours that simply enthral viewers.

The sound of music reverberates throughout Jewel Changi Airport, accompanying the dazzling display.

One of the best things about the Jewel Rain Vortex is that it occupies the centre of the complex. This means that there are many different vantage points around the complex to admire the Jewel Rain Vortex Light Show. If you manage to find the right seat at a restaurant, it also makes the perfect accompaniment to a meal.

 

Viewing the Jewel Rain Vortex Trip.com Light & Music Showcase

Some of the viewing areas for the Jewel light show include at the base of the Jewel Rain Vortex, at the Level Two Viewing Platform and Lobbies H & F on the second, third and fourth floor.

The many different vantage points mean that you can experience the show from different angles.

The Jewel Rain Vortex Trip.com Light & Music Showcase takes place every day.

There will be two shows from Monday to Thursday and three shows on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday, and on the eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays.

Show times are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8 pm and 9 pm;
  • Friday to Sunday, Eve of Public Holidays and Public Holidays: 8 pm, 9 pm and 10 pm

The Jewel light and sound show, the Trip.com Light & Music Showcase, is free for all to enjoy.

In addition to viewing the thundering water pouring down at the heart of Jewel Changi Airport, it is also worth heading down to the basement of Jewel where you can watch the water flowing on downwards too. 

 

Jewel Rain Vortex’s Operating Hours

In case you visit in the day, you may also be interested to know the Jewel Rain Vortex’s operating hours. If you visit outside of these operating hours, you will not be able to view the waterfall. The operating hours are

  • Monday to Thursday: 11 am to 10 pm;
  • Friday to Sunday (including Public Holidays): 10 am to 10 pm.

The Light & Music Showcase is a great way to enjoy the rushing water of the Jewel Rain Vortex. It is one of the iconic and free light shows that you can watch in Singapore. The other must-see light show in Singapore is Garden Rhapsody at Gardens by the Bay’s Supertree Grove.
