Woodgrove Ascent Playgrounds

The Woodgrove Ascent playgrounds are designed for kids of different ages. There are those for kids between 2 to 5 years old, and others for the older age set of 5 to 12 years old. In addition, there is a “play area” that caters to older ones too – read on to find out more!

CNY 2026: Fun Activities & Things to Do for Families

-- Story continues below --

Giant red mushrooms dominate the first of the Woodgrove Ascent playgrounds. Designed for kids between the ages of 2 to 5 years old, the playground features a mushroom play structure, inspired by the fungi and plants that can be found on the forest floor.

Kids can enjoy the pieces of play equipment incorporated in the mushroom playhouse including climbing ladders, bridges and slides. There is even a little hideout under one of the platforms.

A mushroom merry-go-round also beckons kids to go for a spin under the shade of its hat. There are seats and bars for them to hang on to as they go round and round.

Elsewhere around this Woodgrove Ascent playground are flower talk tubes and interactive play posts too. Sound also becomes a part of the play experience with three flower petal shaped xylophones, complete with mallets.

The Mushroom Playhouse playground can be found between blocks 373A and 373B.

Classic Games: Snakes & Ladders and More

Classic Games: Snakes & Ladders and More

Who says that kids need to have fancy equipment to have fun? The next play area at Woodgrove Ascent is a spot where kids can just use their imagination, bodies and social skills to play.

This area features a padded play space with graphics on it. There are four games that have been incorporated into the graphics – snakes and ladders, counting steps, a garden maze and hopping lily pads.

Signboard

A signboard provides instructions of how to play each of the games. However, kids can also get creative and come up with their own rules on how to play on the floor game boards.

What we thought was interesting was the snake and ladders dice panel. Kids can spin the wheel on the dice panel to see how many steps to take on the snakes and ladders board. It is a bit of simple old-school fun.

This play area can be found between blocks 373A and 373B.

Frog Playground

Frog Playground

Young kids can hop over to the Frog Playground a stone’s throw away. This is a play area inspired by the Forest Greenback, also known as a Copper-cheeked Frog, a frog that can be found in Singapore.

A series of obstacles including low climbing discs, a climbing net and stepping stones

A series of obstacles including low climbing discs, a climbing net and stepping stones lead to the frog play structure. Climbing into the frog’s back, kids will find maze play panels and chimes. They can then take the slide – which is designed to look like the frog’s extended tongue – to get back down.

Trampolines at Woodlands Ascent playground

Since it is a frog-themed playground, it should come as no surprise that there are a series of bouncy trampolines here. There are snake springers too!

Selfie pocket at the merry-go-round

One special feature to look out for can be found on the seated merry-go-round. There is special pocket where you can place your phone and set it to record a selfie while kids swirl around – a great way to capture the smiles of kids spinning around.

The Frog Playground can be found in front of the multi-storey car park, block 375.

Forest Play

Forest Play

Older kids itching to play can head over to the larger play structure nearby. This jungle-themed play area rises up with multiple ways for kids to enter in. They can use the rope nets, stairs or climb up ladders to reach the upper sections of the play structure.

Slides

From the very top, a slide provides a payoff for the climb. Some transparent panels on the closed slide allow parents and care givers to keep an eye on them.

Swings

There are also a set of swings here.

This play area can be found in front of block 373.

Netted Play Arch

Netted Play Arch

For even more of a challenge, there is another climbing net that is suitable for older kids.

Kids can make their way up the netted play arch from either end. The net is set up with an interested, angled spacing.

Netted Arch

There is also a tunnel that rises up from the centre of the arch, providing yet another way for kids to scale up the arch.

Climbing obstacles line underneath the arch, giving additional play value to the netted play arch.

This play area can be found between blocks 373A and 373B.

Rooftop Play Spot

Rooftop Play Spot

The last playground can be found at the rooftop garden of the multi-purpose car park.

Designed for younger kids, this playground also has a woodland theme with mushrooms, a leaf springer and little ladybirds dotting the ground.

A rockwall tunnel allows kids to practise their climbing skills while also serving as a spot for them to hideaway.

Challenge Course

Challenge Course

As mentioned earlier, there is a bonus play area for even older ones, including adults. It is a Challenge Course that is designed for use by those 13 years old and older.

Similar to the the course that can be found at Whampoa Park, this challenge course features five stations that will put your skills of agility, strength and balance to the test.

First, be swift footed and race through the Ninja Steps, then balance your way across the Sway Steps. Pick up speed at the U-turn Ramp before putting your strength to the test at the Traverse Wall.

Finally step across the Agility Pods to get to the finishing line!

The Challenge Course can be found in front of block 372B.
