UTOPIA Exhibition

Catch this travelling exhibition on the first and only Symphony inspired by Singapore that is written by a Russian composer, at Singapore’s only public library dedicated to the performing arts!

After having been to four libraries since April, the UTOPIA Exhibit takes you on the journey of the UTOPIA Symphony, commissioned in 2004 by then Ambassador to Russia, Michael Tay, and founder of Foundation for Arts and Social Enterprise (“The Foundation”). The Symphony by Russian composer Vladimir Martynov was recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and released on digital formats like Spotify and iTunes in November 2020.

Besides getting insight into the Symphony, library-goers are invited to think about what “utopia” means to them, and whether it remains a relevant concept in a post-pandemic world.
