Tomacado Singapore: Dining in an Indoor Garden

As the festive season arrives, the city comes alive with joyous laughter and the beauty of the community coming together to celebrate the new year – and that echoes Tomacado’s lifestyle philosophy in the celebration of life too. Every dish was intended to be served with warmth to the eyes and heart.
The setting was not only ideal for friends and dates, but also family gatherings. We caught a sweet moment near us where a father was on a dad-daughter date with his young daughter, complete with a ‘happy birthday’ floral sign board on the table (prepared by the restaurant), and presented her with a mini bouquet of flowers. The little girl had so much fun that her laughter drizzled over our merry meal too.

It was exactly that dreamy light-hearted environment and floral setting that welcomed us as we stepped foot into Tomacado Singapore. The first element that caught our attention was the fragrance of the blooms at the entrance to the florist-restaurant.
We were then ushered through the colourful and beautiful garden of flowers that drew us into an immersive experience, that almost felt like we drank the Drink Me bottle in Alice in Wonderland. Large flowers surrounded us, some even towering over our heads as we settled into our seats.
Warm Festive Menu for Gatherings
The Blooming Celebration Limited Set comes in six courses, with choice of soup, appetiser, salad and chef’s recommendation. Accompanying the set meal is a ceramic horse door gift echoes the horse zodiac for 2026, and symbolises well wishes for prosperity and blessings for the new year.
When the appetisers were served, we were greeted by a colourful displays of the Winter Trio Appetiser and the Burrata & Prosciutto Wreath Salad with Truffle Dressing.
The former was a playboard of tuna and tomatoes that teased of the flavours that were to follow in the meal, and the latter was an extravagantly colourful play with a whole ball of Burrata cheese decorated with prosciutto, nuts and seasonal fruits and greens.
We have to confess that we were initially sceptical about the taste. Afterall, how often was it that a dish both looked and tasted appealing?
Our reservations were quickly brushed aside when we dug into the salad. The salad had a generous serving of fruits and nuts, especially the walnuts and figs scattered within that gave subtle but delightful accents to the overall sweet and fresh flavours. The truffle was also light enough that it complements rather than overpowers the dish.
The Winter Trio Appetiser was a taster platter of intricate bites of seared tuna, mushroom puff and tomato stuffed with mushrooms. I confess that I am not a huge fan of tomatoes, but liked this combination where the mushrooms had a slightly nutty and even mildly meaty taste that went well with the tomatoes.
We then enjoyed the Pistachio Herb-crusted Lamb Rack that was roasted to rosé tenderness, cushioned with pistachio and mashed potatoes. The lamb rack was tender and juicy, with barely a hint of gamey flavour.
The main course was the delectable Roasted Chicken with Black Truffle (half). The meat was cooked to just the right balance of moisture and delicate meat textures.
It was paired with mashed pumpkin which was a nice touch, but we felt that the mashed pumpkin was sufficient as a standalone starter dish and seemed to gild the lily for the Roasted Chicken centrepiece.
The Blooming Palette Napoleon drew the meal to a close with a splash of colours. Presented in the form of a paint palette, the Napoleon layered crisp pastry with grapes in its inner linings and light cream.
Camera-Ready Beverages
Tomacado’s signature drinks the Blue Butterfly Pea Sparkling Soda and the Rose & Hawthorn Elixir (alcohol-free) turned heads with their striking visuals.
The Rose & Hawthorn Elixir literally served rose bloom (ice) to your table, and a poetic narrative on the transience of floral beauty as the iced rose melts. The drink was refreshing and paired well with the desserts.
Served with fresh lime juice, the drink completes its metamorphosis from the lime yellow juice into a lavender coloured sparking soda with the added blue butterfly pea soda.

Previous Review of Tomacado Restaurant
Here is our earlier review of Tomacado
Originally founded in China in 2015 by Karen Kong, Tomacado was created out of a desire to balance career and family life while offering a place of calm in the busy city.
The name itself is a blend of “tomato” and “avocado,” reflecting the restaurant’s emphasis on health, freshness, and nourishment. Each location is designed around a theme flower that reflects the season, and the philosophy of “one season, one flower” extends across food, décor, and lifestyle elements.
Tomacado: A Space Where Food Meets Flowers
From the moment you step inside Tomacado Singapore, the space feels unlike most restaurants. It is part eatery, part flower shop, and part art gallery, with a thoughtful retail area too. At the entrance sits a full flower shop, stocked with freshly imported seasonal blooms.
Diners and visitors alike can work with the in-house florist to design a bespoke bouquet, with prices adjusted according to style and budget.
We were so impressed by the interior design of the restaurant. Each table is decorated with a fresh floral arrangement that is prepared daily, ensuring that no two visits look exactly the same.
The walls of the dining space are also beautifully carved and embossed with floral motifs and patterns, tying the restaurant’s visual identity closely to its philosophy of combining food and flowers.
Art as Part of the Experience
Tomacado also functions as a mini art gallery. For its debut in Singapore, Tomacado commissioned eight artisans from China to reinterpret two flowers of significance: the Chinese peony and Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim.
These artworks are displayed around the dining area in different mediums, ranging from embroidery to glasswork and carved wood, allowing diners to experience flowers not only in fresh form but also as creative works of art.
The peony installations are especially striking. Taking centre stage within the restaurant, giant handcrafted peonies bring texture and colour into the space.
In Chinese culture, the peony is considered a symbol of prosperity, honour, and beauty, which resonates with Tomacado’s concept of creating nourishment for both body and spirit.
Food with a Natural Touch
The menu at Tomacado Singapore reflects the same attention to detail as the interiors. Dishes are guided by a philosophy of health and balance, often highlighting vegetables, fresh produce, and floral garnishes.
Flavours are intentionally kept light, focusing on natural ingredients rather than heavy seasoning.
Here are some of the dishes we tried.
Tomacado Signature Wild Mushroom Soup
This soup is a blend of porcini, shiitake, and several other mushrooms, gently simmered in milk.
The result is a smooth, velvety broth with earthy undertones, served with slices of baguette for dipping. Simple and nourishing, we really enjoyed this dish and found it a comforting start to the meal.
Honey Roasted Pumpkin Salad
The salad combines sweet roasted pumpkin with a slow-cooked onsen egg, creamy avocado, chickpeas, mixed nuts, and arugula.
The mix created a dish that was both filling and refreshing, making it a great option either as a lighter main course or as a starter to share.
Cured Salmon
For starters, we tried a selection that showcased both freshness and richness. The cured salmon, served carpaccio-style with wasabi, soy, and balsamic elements, highlighted the quality of Tomacado’s ingredients and was light and delicate.
Seared Tuna with Avocado Bites
The seared tuna with avocado bites paired sesame-crusted tuna with creamy avocado, enhanced by mentaiko and sweet mayonnaise, creating a dish that was indulgent without overpowering the natural flavours.
Hot & Flaky Truffled Beef Cubes Vol-au-vent
We also tried the hot and flaky truffled beef cubes vol-au-vent, featuring pan-seared Australian Angus beef in bite-sized pieces with housemade black truffle sauce, all encased in crisp puff pastry.
Each starter offered a different texture and taste, making for a well-balanced and satisfying beginning to the meal.
MBS 6/7 Wagyu Steak
We felt this main was the highlight of our meal. Prepared medium-rare and served with black pepper sauce, a herby purée, caramelised shallots, butter-fried potatoes, and crispy kale, the steak itself was tender, and the sides added both texture and variety.
The dish balanced indulgence with careful seasoning, leaving a memorable impression. We really liked how the meat wasn’t overly oily but yet retained a lot of the natural flavours.
Tomacado Signature Roasted Chicken
The free-range chicken was marinated and air-dried before roasting, resulting in crisp skin and juicy meat. Served with either honey-baked pumpkin or roasted potatoes, along with Tomacado’s signature chilli powder, it is a classic yet carefully executed dish.
The signature handblend of spice added a subtle heat that enhanced the overall dish without overpowering it.
Almond Chocolate Cake
Dessert at Tomacado is no afterthought. The Almond Chocolate Cake layers a delicate almond base with rich chocolate, coconut panna cotta, and soft sponge cake, finished with whipped coconut cream and toasted coconut flakes.
It was a sweet yet light way to end the meal, leaving a pleasant impression without feeling heavy.
Blue Butterfly Pea Sparkling Soda
For drinks, Tomacado’s signature Blue Butterfly Pea Sparkling Soda is one worth trying. Fresh lime juice is combined with vibrant blue butterfly pea tea, which gradually transforms into a gentle lavender hue as it mixes, creating a visually striking and playful drink.
The flavour is light and refreshing, with a subtle citrus tang that complements the floral notes, making it both a treat for the eyes and the palate. It pairs especially well with the lighter starters or salads.
Floral Cocktails at Tomacado
Tomacado also offers cocktails with a strong visual appeal. The Rose-Infused Margarita blends tequila with the natural sweetness of roses, resulting in a soft pink drink accented with floral notes.
Another option is the Monet’s Garden Floral Cocktail, made with Sauvignon Blanc, gin, and colourful edible flowers. The presentation resembles a blooming garden in a glass, making these drinks as visually striking as they are refreshing.
