Hailing from Seoul, South Korea, Standard Bread at Weave mall, Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore offers fresh bakes and an aesthetic spot to get a bite.
We made our way to Standard Bread in the morning hoping to get some food. Our previous attempts had been derailed by the long queues outside the Singapore outlet.
Thankfully, this time around, there was no queue and we managed to walk in and get a table.

Standard Bread: Korean Bakery at WEAVE Mall, Resorts World Sentosa
Indeed, inside, the Standard Bread outlet gave off aesthetically-pleasing vibes. It looked like a rustic bakery that you would expect to find in a rural village somewhere in Europe. It even had a water wheel in the seating area.
The jams and breads were laid out in the first section, as if in welcome to guests.
Picking up a tray, we started to make our way the bread line.
First was the jam and spread station. Laid out before us were choices like Orange Tamarind ($3), Dubai Chocolate ($3), Earl Grey Milk Tea ($3) and others. While it is not necessary to get one of the spreads or jams, we opted to go for the Mango Raspberry ($3), which the server behind the counter duly scooped into a ramekin for us.
Next was to pick up the bread.

The loaves of breads are presented in individual, square wooden boxes. Amongst the bakes available are Salted Butter Bread ($14), Classic Bread ($11) and Brioche Bread ($14).
Those who want more flavourful options can choose from choices such as Basil Tomato Bread ($14), Black Olive Bread ($14) and Nuts and Triple Cheese Bread ($15).
There is also Corn Brioche Bread ($15), Chocolate Bread ($15) and Matcha Red Bean Bread ($15).
A new Singapore special flavour has been recently launched – Ondeh Ondeh Bread ($15).
To go with our choice of jam, we decided to try their speciality – the Salted Butter Bread.
We feel that while the jam and spread station comes before the breads, you may want to decide on your choice of bread before choosing the jam. This way around, you can make sure that you pair the jam with the choice of bread, not the other way around.
Brunch Items at Standard Bread, WEAVE
There are also some brunch menu items available at Standard Bread Resorts World Sentosa. In addition to French toast such as Creme Brulee French Toast ($19) and pasta dishes like Creamy Pesto Chicken Pasta ($20), there is the choice of Meatballs & Mash ($19) or Bacon & Mash ($19).
There is also the option for Alvin’s Mash ($22)- a combination of meatballs and bacon with mashed potatoes. This is the option that we ordered at the counter along with our drinks.
Food at Standard Bread, Resorts World Sentosa
We settled down at the table and to enjoy our bread.
The Salted Butter Bread was baked really well with a crusty exterior and it was soft and fluffy on the inside.
The combination of salt dusted on the top of the loaf and the butter gave it a rich taste that we felt did not even warrant the Raspberry and Mango Jam. In fact, we personally preferred the bread wit you pairing it with the jam because it allowed the flavours to come through.
To accompany the bread, we had ordered a Standard Spanner Iced Coffee ($9) and a Berry Berry Squash ($9). The Standard Spanner, which had a double shot of expresso, is one of their signature drinks and we found it to be super creamy.
Before long, the buzzer for us to collect our cooked food sounded.
Alvin’s Mash offers both meatballs and bacon along with the mashed potatoes. We found that the meatballs and the bacon had a distinct flavour and even a tinge of sweetness to them. That’s great if that is something that you like.
Standard Bread Bakery at WEAVE Mall, Resorts World Sentosa
Overall, Standard Bread delivers on the bread, which is what it is known for. However, it is pricy but that is something to be expected being located with Resorts World Sentosa at the WEAVE Mall. If you are bread lover, then Standard Bread is a must visit to experience its baked goods. It is also a nice slice of Korean cafe culture here in Singapore.
