The Little Company presents
Singapore Repertory Theatre’s The Little Company is proud to bring you a new original play to kick off the 2020 season! Fly High will delight children’s imaginations with the wonders of aviation and make learning the basics of aerodynamics fun through music, puppetry, and interactivity.
Poppy and Mo both dream of flying. When they meet each other in the park they soon become friends and decide to embark on a crazy ambition to build their very own flying machine. Andrew Marko (Peter Pan in Serangoon Gardens, Falling) plays the meticulous businessman Mo, and Tan Rui Shan (The Dragon’s Dentist, Upstairs in the Sky) plays the bubbly and creative Poppy.
SRT’s Fly High
Fly High is written by Rachel Barnett and directed by Jemma Gross, founders of Fly High Stories, a UK theatre company that is passionate about creating captivating theatre for children, with an emphasis on growth mindset and confidence building. The growth mindset encourages children to say “I can’t do it YET” instead of “I can’t do it”. Poppy and Mo’s journey of building their flying machine together demonstrates this perseverance, as well as curiosity, critical thinking and creativity, which are important skills that children will need to thrive in the fast-evolving 21st century.
