McDonald’s Singapore is launching the Happy Meals Readers Programme in March 2019, bringing children’s books and storytelling to restaurants.
From 7 March 2019, Happy Meals will come with the additional option of a book, exclusively written by Cressida Cowell, author and illustrator of the bestselling How to Train Your Dragon series for McDonald’s as part of the Happy Meals Readers Programme.
To further promote literacy amongst children, McDonald’s Singapore is also working with the National Library Board to bring story time to restaurants with the aid of McDonald’s Family Ambassadors and the library’s Junior and Teen Reading Ambassadors.

“As a children’s author and an ambassador of the National Literacy Trust, I love inspiring children to read. Partnering with a huge organisation like McDonald’s, through the Happy Meal Readers Programme, is a great opportunity to get books into so many children’s lives. I couldn’t be happier that McDonald’s are using their scale for good in order to impact so many different children’s lives.” said Cressida Cowell.
