One of China’s biggest cha chaan tengs is opening its first international outlet in Singapore on 22 May! Keming Bing Sat, which has over 140 outlets across mainland China, is bringing a slice of Hong Kong to our shores.
For its first week, Keming Bing Sat will be open from 10 am to 10 pm serving its lunch and dinner menu, and their breakfast menu will commence from 27 May at 8 am.
Keming Bing Sat: A Bite into Hong Kong
Keming Bing Sat is a Hong Kong-style diner that started in 2019 and has exploded into a household name across China in under six years and boasts a wide range of Hong Kong dishes with authentic, bold flavours.
It is definitely worth a try, but just hope that the queues are not as long as those across China!

Keming Bing Sat Menu: The Millions-approved Char Siew Rice and Other Rice Dishes
Keming Bing Sat’s char siew rice sold a whopping 3.3 million bowls in a year, earning it the crown of best-selling char siew rice in China.
So what’s so good about it?
For starters, the pork is not just glossy, tender and charred, every bowl is served with a mix of fatty and lean char siew that is soaked in the restaurant’s secret 23-ingredient sauce, topped with two sunny-side-up eggs with vegetables. Each chew invokes a sense of satisfaction.
For those craving a beautifully slow scrambled egg atop a bed of rice with char siew slices, you will be pleased to find this on the menu.
The tastiness of the Scallion Oil Chicken Chop Rice on Hot Plate should not be undermined as just another ‘grilled chicken with rice’, as the scallion oil topping elevates the well-seasoned, tender boneless chicken thigh.
While some eateries offer chicken that might have been left in the kitchen for a while and reheated before serving, the chicken here is fresh without hard, overcooked edges and a delight to munch on.
Most of their dishes are topped with beautiful sunny-side-up eggs, and you might be pleased to know one chef in the kitchen is dedicated to making them, fried for each dish separately. You can just imagine his CV highlighted at the top “Master of sunny-side-up’s: fried 200 eggs a day”.
But what really centres these dishes is… the rice.
Keming Bing Sat prides itself in the use of Wuchang rice, a type that is the ‘champagne of Chinese rice’ and one of the finest and most premium rice varieties in China. Wuchang is a city in Heilongjiang Province, in the far northeast of China, which means the rice grows slower because of the large temperature differences between day and night. This allows more time for starches and nutrients to develop.
Other Dishes do not Lack in Star Power
The menu boasts of several other signature dishes of a typical char chaan teng, including the classic stir-fried beef hor fun, instant noodles (公仔面), Hong Kong-style curry and even sirloin steak with spaghetti.
Stephen Chow’s Favourite Noodles (星爷至爱公仔面) is undeniably another star of Keming Bin Sat’s menu.
An elevated version of what you would find in other char chaan teng’s, the dish boasts of tender, stewed beef, a mid-wing chicken joint, a slice of luncheon meat, a soft egg, and greens. It is a complete, soulful bowl.
Like any self-respecting char chaan teng, their French toast comes in form of its Lava Ovaltine Toast.
The ‘lava’ is a house blend of fresh whole milk, evaporated milk and condensed milk, but does not have much hint of sweetness. Topped with crushed oreos, have the toast once it is served to taste it at its best.
While the restaurant has the typical hoisin sauce and peanut butter steamed rice roll/cheong fun, it does not offer any other options and dim sum.
Kid-friendly Dishes that Boast Authentic Flavours
Their dishes are mostly void of chilli, save for its curry dishes, which is befitting for families. Kids will definitely enjoy their rice dishes that are generally nutritious and a balanced meal.
The Happiness Lava Egg Waffles are a must-have for kids who enjoy the Hong Kong street egg waffles, as these have a burst of cheese in them.
The keen eye would notice that Keming Bing Sat’s batter is very well done as the cooked waffles are well aerated to give a fluffy, light and chewy bite into them.
Bear with the Cuteness
Equally impressive is Keming Bing Sat’s freshly pulled teas, as they are not too sweet for the local palette. The menu also offers coffees, sodas and soft drinks.
While hot beverages are available, go for the signature iced drinks that come with their signature bear-shaped ice, also known as the viral stars that have swept China by storm.
These bears are their respective drinks frozen to ensure the drinks are not diluted as the ice melts and maintain the drinks’ richness in taste, and come with the Keming Signature Iced Milk Tea, Iced Lemon Tea, Pink Bear Soda and Dreamy Bear Soda.
Chefs from Hong Kong Ensure Authenticity of Dishes
While the restaurant was started in Shenzhen, the flavours are true to Hong Kong. This is assured by their chefs who hail from Hong Kong, bringing the techniques, training, and taste with them.
The floor staff are currently from Shenzhen and Guangzhou primarily, and have been brought in to establish the brand’s culture and service DNA.
The result is a dining experience that’s smooth, efficient, and refreshingly unfussy—true to the roots of any good Cantonese eatery.
Space, Service & Setting
The interior of Keming Bing Sat strikes a balance between nostalgic and polished. With checkered tiles, wooden booth seats, soft yellow lighting, and neon signage, the authenticity is definitely felt in this full experience.
Keming Bing Sat Review: A Huge Draw
Plaza Singapura might seem to bore its traffic with its food options, especially when it lies at the further end of Orchard Road, away from the main bustle two train stops down where newer, renovated malls line the road.
With Keming Bing Sat, it might just pull in a bit more crowd that Plaza Singapura needs, because this new diner is definitely a compelling option to families looking for something new, something good to eat.
