From now till 25 April, gear up your bicycle, roller blades or running shoes and register for the SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge to help raise funds for low income and vulnerable families, youths and children.

Participants in this virtual event will have 50 days to complete the challenge by cycling, blading, running or walking. The overall goal is for them to complete a collective distance of 500,000km and raise a total of $100,000 for the President’s Challenge.

Held in commemoration of SAFRA’s 50th anniversary this year, SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge is the first in a series of SAFRA Cares initiatives to bring NSmen, their families and the public together to make a social impact.

Taking part in SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge could not be easier. Participants have the choice of cycling, blading, running or walking to clock and cumulate their preferred race distance.

This makes it easy for everyone, no matter what their favourite sport is, to be part of this good cause. The activities can be done anytime, anywhere (including indoors) and at their own pace, from 9 April to 28 May 2022.

Even indoor activities like working out on a gym’s treadmill, stair stepper, stationary bike and cross trainer/elliptical machine can count towards the distance goal.

The distance completed can be tracked using the STRAVA App or submitted manually online.

SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge Categories

Participants in the Individual Category can choose from four different distances for each discipline. This starts from just 5 km for those who are running or walking. Further details of the different event categories can be found here.

Upon completion of the challenge, participants will receive a Finisher’s T-shirt, e-certificate and goodie bag. Participants challenging the longer distances will also receive a Finisher’s medal.

Get Out, Get Active & Bond as a Family for a Good Cause

Get Out, Get Active & Bond as a Family for a Good Cause

The SAFRA Wheels & Feet Charity Challenge also has a Family Challenge category. This is suitable for families who wish to bond together through sports while doing something meaningful. Parents can also make use of the Challenge to introduce their kids to the idea of doing good from an early age.

To participate in the Family Challenge, parents can pair up with their children aged between 5 and 12 to form a team. The cumulative distance which a team must cover is 5 km for those who are walking or running, or 10 km for those cycling or blading.

With 50 days to complete the distance, the Challenge can be broken into smaller segments so it is not overly strenuous for kids. You can even clock the distance while cycling at new parks or exploring walking trails on a day out together.

It can be a fun activity which parents and kids can look forward to do together each week. What’s more, kids will also gain the satisfaction of achieving a goal once they have completed the target distance.

Registration fees for a parent-child pair is $30. Families with more than one child can register an additional child for $12. Sign up for the Family Challenge here.
