When visiting Tampines Mall with the family and the kids start to get restless, it is good to know that there is a small Tampines Mall playground that can be found at the open air rooftop.
Tampines Mall Playground at the Rooftop
The Tampines Mall playground is really quite small and has been around for a long time already. In fact, the main piece of play equipment that you will find there is a cute bulldozer shaped play structure. It is designed for children between 2 to 5 years old.
The green and yellow bulldozer is a spot where kids can meander their way around various apparatus. They can use the yellow tracks and the hand grips to step up into the cab of the bulldozer. Or they can head to the other side where there is a short ladder that they can use to climb onboard.

At the rear of the bulldozer play structure, there is a black spiral pole that kids can use to both climb up and twirl their way down.
As part of the Tampines Mall bulldozer playground’s design, there is a smoke stack at the front with billowing black smoke coming out from the engine.
In place of the bulldozer blades – the large plate attached to the front of the dozer to push dirt around – there is a low yellow slide that kid can use to swoosh forward.
What we appreciated the most about this playground at Tampines Mall is that it is sheltered.
Venturing further into the rooftop area, there is another section – this one exposed to the elements – that has mounds that kids can climb up and down.
Tampines Mall Open Plaza
What families will also appreciate about this rooftop space is the open plaza. The sheltered plaza has plenty of space for kids to move about. It is great for when you have restless kids who need to expend some energy.
The bonus is that it is sheltered – making it suitable in all kinds of weather.
There are also some seats around.
A huge ceiling fan helps to keep the rooftop space cool when turned on.
Water Coolers
Another useful feature that can be found at the Tampines Mall Open Plaza is a pair of water coolers. Need to refill the kids’ bottles or your own? Easily do so at these water coolers.
Other family-friendly facilities at the mall include the Tampines Mall nursing room on Level 2.
Heading Up to the Tampines Mall Playground and Open Plaza on Level 4
The Tampines Mall playground is small but sometimes that is all that is needed to keep kids occupied. The Open Plaza provides opportunity for kids to play. Together, they serve as a welcomed respite for families visiting Tampines Mall.
