Paris Baguette has launched its famous PARAN LABEL in Singapore. PARAN LABEL is its modern, health-forward bakery line that has made waves in Korea since its 2025 launch. Currently only available as a pilot at its Paragon outlet, the range includes loaves, sandwiches, salads and cakes developed with lower sugar, higher protein and dietary fibre, and selected additions such as probiotics and collagen.

In just one year, the PARAN LABEL range reportedly surpassed 20 million units sold – a clear sign that consumers are looking for bread and cakes that balance enjoyment with better nutrition.

The name “paran,” meaning blue in Korean, reflects calm and balanced living, a philosophy that comes through clearly in both the ingredients and the dining experience.

For parents in particular, this concept feels especially relevant. It’s the kind of place where you can bring the kids for more luxurious breakfast knowing the breads are thoughtfully formulated. The food still tastes like proper fare, but with more intention behind what goes into it.

At the heart of PARAN LABEL is its bread. The Rustic Multiseed, Multigrain Rye, and Oat Softness loaves are developed with added probiotics, lower sugar, and higher fibre and protein content. Some recipes are egg-free, making them more inclusive for different dietary needs.

What stood out most was the sourdough character. You get the health benefits and chew of sourdough but without the strong tang as acidity is restrained, allowing the natural grain, nut and seed flavours to come through. Although high in fibre, the crumb remains moist and soft, and easy on the teeth of young and old.

The PARAN Signature Bread Platter lets the breads speak for themselves. Lightly toasted, they remain tender inside with a slightly crispy crust. These are everyday loaves you could confidently serve to children.

The dish that truly stole the show was the Chipotle Prawn Toast. Well-cooked prawns sit atop a bed of soft scrambled eggs, layered on PARAN bread. The prawns carried a beautiful smoky char, and the chipotle brought warmth without overpowering heat. This is a dish so delightful it really makes a good start to any meal (in case you eat it for other meals!)

The scrambled eggs underneath were creamy and gently seasoned, providing a rich contrast to the smokiness of the prawns. The bread anchored everything beautifully, adding structure without competing for attention.

It was easily the most flavour-forward dish I tried – bold, satisfying, and memorable.

Another highlight was the Chipotle Truffle Egg Citrus Prawn Salad. This dish felt simple in the best way. Fresh greens, fresh and crunchy prawns and soft eggs come together with a citrus brightness that lifted the entire plate. The chipotle element added subtle warmth, while the truffle brought a layer of earthiness.

The truffle didn’t come through as strongly, but it was still clean, balanced, and genuinely enjoyable – the kind of dish that feels nourishing rather than heavy.

The sandwich range uses the Multigrain Rye Bread as its base, with options like Roasted Chicken Ricotta and Smoked Salmon Ricotta. The Smoked Salmon Deluxe Combo includes added collagen.

The cake range – Strawberry Greek Yogurt, Mango Coco (no added dairy), and Blueberry Dark Choco – incorporates reduced sugar, probiotics, collagen, and low-gluten formulations, with some recipes using rice flour in place of regular flour.

They are visually appealing and lighter on the palate. Much less indulgent, the cakes taste less airy and less palatable, but the jams are still on point. That said, for parents who want to let their kids enjoy cake without excessive sugar, these could be the answer. They feel more balanced, less heavy, and easier to enjoy as an everyday treat.

PARAN LABEL at Paragon feels like a natural extension of what Paris Baguette has always done well: good-quality, well-crafted, genuinely tasty food. The difference now is the added layer of health consideration – lower sugar, more fibre, functional ingredients – thoughtfully incorporated without stripping away enjoyment. It stays true to Paris Baguette’s philosophy of quality and flavour, simply with a more mindful approach to what goes into every loaf, plate, and slice.
