Behind-the-scenes Preview

Behind-the-scenes Preview

We attended a special behind-the-scenes preview which got us even more psyched up about the coming shows! What a treat it was to be brought rinkside, up close and personal with the talented cast and soaking up all the Disney vibes!

What iconic Disney props can you spot?

What iconic Disney props can you spot?

These are some of the actual props used by the performers in the shows – yes that’s Maui’s magical fish hook as seen in Moana, as well as the Genie’s lamp from Aladdin, the Beast’s enchanted rose from Beauty and the Beast, and Raya’s whip sword from Raya and the Last Dragon.

Fun fact: this will be Raya’s on-ice debut as this is the first Disney on Ice show featuring Raya and the Last Dragon!

Moana fans, this is an actual piece of the beautiful fabric used to recreate the water in the ocean scenes! According to the cast member, they call the action of creating the waves “spread the butter – cos it looks like we’re spreading butter”.

Blue Fairy’s wand

True blue fans of Disney on Ice will recognise this iconic prop – it’s the Blue Fairy’s wand, used to sprinkle bits of fairy magic everywhere and THE essential tool for wishing upon a star.

We got a sneak peek at some of the costumes worn by the performers as well and were wowed by the dazzling details. Some are actually really heavy – which makes it all the more amazing that the performers are able to effortlessly execute such graceful moves while wearing them.

its talented performers that bring to life the magic of Disney with their cutting-edge moves on the ice

The heartbeat of Disney on Ice is, of course, its talented performers that bring to life the magic of Disney with their cutting-edge moves on the ice as well as their theatrical ability in portraying their characters.

We were therefore thrilled to watch some of the key performers rehearse their moves on the ice, dazzling with their daring jumps, spins and twizzles. A crowd favourite at Disney on Ice are of course the pair figure skaters, and we were treated to a variety of amazing pair lifts and displays of perfect synchrony.
