I Theatre’s The Magic Paintbrush Activity Sheets

The Magic Paintbrush Activity Sheets

In the classic Chinese folk tale The Magic Paintbrush, the hero Ma Liang picks up a paintbrush and everything he paints comes to life. Now, I Theatre is presenting The Magic Paintbrush in Singapore from 27 October to 12 November at the Drama Centre Theatre.

Filled with lively action, puppets and memorable tunes, this will be a musical for children over the age of three and their families.

Toni Lee, a youngster from present-day Singapore is struggling with the pressures and stress of schoolwork and parental expectations. With an accidental wish, Toni quite unexpectedly meets a Magical Paintbrush. He is transported back in time to a Southern Province of China, where Toni becomes Ma Liang. In a series of magical adventures, Ma Liang’s story unfolds.

A tuneful Phoenix guides and helps Ma Liang with his quest. Comical Palace Guards, Sotong and Shrimp, try to capture Ma Liang for the cruel, greedy Emperor and his wicked schemes!

I Theatre’s version of The Magic Paintbrush is filled with fun and laughter. It contains a clear and strong moral message about the value of creativity, friendship, and the dangers of using, or abusing power.

The Magic Paintbrush Activity Sheets

In conjunction with I Theatre’s production The Magic Paintbrush, Little Day Out has prepared as set of fun activity sheets. Based on the classic story, children and their parents can do these activity sheets and discover the story of The Magic Paintbrush together.
