Singapore River Festival 2022 Returns With #TheGreatRiverCleanUp Virtual Game
Sharing is caring!

For the month of April, the Singapore River Festival (SRF) 2022 will return for its sixth instalment with a month-long celebration filled with exciting activities that showcase the offering along all three quays – Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay.

Taking a different spin on the festival this year, SRF will be launching a brand-new virtual fishing game as the festival highlight. Participants can fish for rewards with a total of $1.1 million worth of vouchers and prizes to be won.

Play #TheGreatRiverCleanUp And Win Prizes

Titled #TheGreatRiverCleanUp, the game provides opportunities for players to learn about the heritage of the Singapore River and encourage bonding through interactive play, by allowing up to five players to cooperatively fish, pool their points and attain the most attractive rewards at various milestone levels. This act of cleaning up alludes to the great clean-up in Singapore’s history and serves as a reminder for Singaporeans to do their part in keeping our waters clean.

#TheGreatRiverCleanUp is developed by a local game developer, Sqkii, who aims to raise awareness on caring for the environment with its central theme revolving around sustainability.

To start playing the game, visitors are required to head down to Singapore River, scan the onsite QR codes on the prominent standees placed around the three Quays (Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay) and enable their GPS location services on their mobile devices.

While cleaning up by removing unwanted objects from the river, players stand a chance to win exclusive vouchers for same-day usage with participating partners, learn more about the Singapore River with little titbits of historical fun facts shared in the game, and win attractive prizes when they hit a virtual milestone.

3 Day Program To Spend Time With Friends

For those hooked on the #TheGreatRiverCleanup game but also wish to spend quality time with their families or bond with friends, consider following the special three-day programme to reel players in with a fully planned itinerary that includes suggested activities throughout all three quays.

Between 1 to 30 April, visitors can spend day and night around the Singapore River precinct, explore the cool back lanes and immerse themselves fully in the vibrant environment abuzz with excitement.

Participate in Fun Activities

In addition to the plethora of attractive prizes, the public can look forward to activities such as sake cocktail masterclasses, black and white film workshops, tufting workshops, movie experiences, and exclusive Singapore River Festival-curated picnic baskets which visitors can purchase for an on-the-spot picnic along the river.

Members of the can also take a stroll through the historic bridges’ underpasses or along Circular Road’s back lanes and admire the colourful murals. Look out for snippets of the river’s historical fun facts on the floor stickers.
