Kidney disease is a life-long condition that is physically and financially exhausting. The Kidney Dialysis Foundation is holding this year’s edition of ‘Got To Walk 2021’ as a way to advocate for the importance of kidney health which is aided through living an active lifestyle and raise funds to continue providing subsidised dialysis for the underprivileged.

This year, the Kidney Dialysis Foundation marks 25 years of serving the needy and invites members of the public to complete 25km in 10 days. ‘Got To Walk’ is a virtual walkathon event and is now live on GivingSG as well.


How to register for Got To Walk 2021

Registration for Got To Walk 2021 is free and can be done at this site. The last day of registration for the event will be on 15 August 2021. Those who wish to participate should ensure that they have step tracking apps on their mobile device such as Strava, Apple Health or Google Health. They can also use a step tracker. Once that is done, they can start walking.

Those who have registered will receive a URL link on 11 August via their registered email address to upload the proof of distance clocked by 22 August. Certificates of Achievement will be received by 31 August.


How to support Got To Walk 2021

Participants can also share their photos of their Got To Walk 2021 journey on social media and stand a chance to win a Fitbit Charge 4 tracker! They can also share the journey on GivingSG and encourage their friends and family to support their running efforts with a donation Every dollar raised will go into providing subsidised dialysis treatments and medication for KDF’s needy patients.
