Jurong Bird Park Blue-zilian Carnival
Indulge in all things blue and Brazilian at Jurong Bird Park this holiday season!
Get ready to samba the town blue and flock down to Jurong Bird Park this year-end to catch a glimpse of the world’s rarest blue macaws!
Native to Brazil, the critically endangered Spix’s macaw and endangered Lear’s macaw will be making their inaugural appearance at the park’s Parrot Paradise exhibit. Together with Jurong Bird Park’s Hyacinth macaw, they will make up the entire remaining blue macaw family. The fourth and last blue macaw species—the Glaucous macaw—is already extinct. Bring the brood down to experience a bit of Brazil, the native habitat of these blue beauties.
Numbering around 150 individuals left under human care, the Spix’s macaw is also the same blue bird which inspired the Rio movie series.
Bring the brood down to experience a bit of Brazil, the native habitat of these blue beauties. Be captivated by Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art form that combines music, dance and acrobatics. Sway to the sexy beat of the samba with our sambistas, or try to mirror their smooth dance moves!
Parents can sign up their little ones to be a blue macaw keeper, and learn what is involved in caring for these birds. Participants can prepare food, feed, make enrichment toys and get up close to a Hyacinth macaw.
Guests can also discover more about these special blue macaws during the daily chit-chat sessions with keepers, take home photo mementos with our very own blue macaw mascot and embark on an exciting game trail.
Extend your visit with an evening under the stars, as we bring you a complimentary screening of the first Rio movie at our Amphitheatre only on 25 Nov. Sit back and relax as you soak up the euphony of birds settling down for the evening, with some snacks in hand.
Indulge in all things blue at the park’s F&B kiosks, such as ‘Blue Blue Cha Cha’ and Butterfly Pea Flower tea. Take time to select your favourite blue item from Feathers, the park’s retail store, from plushies to cushion covers. From 25 Nov to 31 Dec, bring home a blue macaw mug for just S$8.
