Light Projections at Marina Bay: Artworks For A Brighter Future

Take a walk around Marina Bay and you will notice that The Fullerton Hotel Singapore’s façade lit up in the evening. The nightly light projections, which started on 26 December 2019 and will be running till New Year’s Eve on 31 December 2019, and are designed to provide a glimpse in to the view of the future from the minds of the next generation.

One Fullerton - Where to Watch the Marina Bay 2020 fireworks in Singapore - The Fullerton Hotel Singapore Light ProjectionsThe light projections on The Fullerton Hotel Singapore façade are based on artworks created by the beneficiaries from Beyond Social Services and SHINE Children and Youth Services. Take a journey into creative and whimsical worlds of their creation; explore a starry universe, underwater seascape and even a candy factory.

The nightly Fullerton Hotel Singapore light projections at take place between 8 pm and 10.30 pm from 26 to 30 December and between 8 pm and 11.30 pm on New Year’s Eve.

Light Projections at Merlion and ArtScience Museum

From 29 December 2019 till New Year’s Eve, the iconic Merlion and distinctive structure of the ArtScience Museum will join in the light up.

At Merlion Park, the Singapore icon will be dressed up in a kaleidoscope of dancing colours in a showcase of artworks co-created by elderly patients and volunteers of the Yishun Community Hospital.

The artworks were created by the patient’s expression therapy sessions with volunteers. The art pieces also encapsulate the volunteers’ hope for the elderly to age actively. The nightly light projections at the Merlion also represent the community’s shared experiences and values passed from one generation to the next.

The nightly light projections on the Merlion will take place between 8 pm and 10.30 pm from 29 to 30 December, and between 8 pm and 11.30 pm on 31 December 2019.

At the ArtScience Museum, the nightly light projections will showcase the work of beneficiaries from the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. It will provide a window into how people with dyslexia relate to the world and represents the hope for an inclusive society.

The nightly light projections at ArtScience Museum take place between 8.15 pm and 10.30 pm from 29 to 30 December, and between 8.15 pm to 10.15 pm on 31 December.
