Trina shares her experience paying a visit to the Ubi baby shops – Baby Kingdom and Baby Hyperstore at Shun Li Industrial Park.
With an almost two year old toddler, frequent trips to baby shops and baby fairs have become a thing of the past. To be fair, I love online shopping – always have, and probably always will just because of the sheer convenience – so I never did bother with going from shop to shop, even when I did have to get baby essentials ready.
Visiting Baby Kingdom and Baby Hyperstore for purposes of writing this story actually made me feel like a soon-to-be mum all over again! I was giddy with excitement at what I would find and left feeling quite delirious, after seeing floor to ceiling worth of baby things, twice over!
So, what’s the deal with these two Ubi baby shops that are literally a hop and a skip apart at Shun Li Industrial Park? Here’s the lowdown!

I popped into Baby Kingdom first and braced myself for in-your-face salesmen, or “I couldn’t care less because it’s too early in the morning” staff.
I experienced neither.
The team at Baby Kingdom – and most notably, Ah Boon – is friendly and non-threatening. If I really am a rookie mum, I’d be very happy to find myself in Baby Kingdom. Have questions? Ask away. Want to chat? Happy to banter! Need to be left alone? You got it!
At no point did I feel like I had to buy something, although I really did want to leave with a purchase, especially since everyone had been so lovely and helpful.
What you need to know is that the first floor of Baby Kingdom is where you’ll find strollers, “Pack and Play” cots, car seats, and other useful baby gear, including bedding and baby carriers (Tula, Ergobaby, and i-angel).
If you’re after strollers and playpens from the likes of Combi and Graco, Baby Kingdom is the place to be. They’ve got a decent range of strollers, which makes it a good starting point, so new parents can be adequately schooled on the pros and cons of a handful of brands, but not enough that you feel overwhelmed.
The second floor is brimming with baby essentials: from wet wipes to sterilisers, and even toys and baby onesies. You’ll find here everyday household brands including Pigeon, Philips Avent, and Fisher Price.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have in stock the replacement straw and seal set for my daughter’s Pigeon MagMag straw cup, but they were happy to get in touch with me when stock does come in.

Although there are some strollers on display at the first floor of Baby Hyperstore, actual shopping will take place on levels two and three, accessible via the lift off to the side of the store’s main entrance.
There’s no missing the massive pink signboard pointing you in the right direction in any case!
Baby Hyperstore’s second floor is bright, modern, and spacious, but what will really grab your attention are the many strollers on display. I’m talking strollers from European brands such as Peg Perego, Maclaren, and Inglesina in every nook and cranny.
There were so many strollers on the floor, on shelves, and in acrylic display boxes, I almost missed the small display of Leander cots and high chairs to the back of the showroom.
The third floor of Baby Hyperstore is also packed with strollers, except the space is dimly-lit and felt a little cluttered.
You’ll also find more cots on display, alongside some ride-on cars, Bfree milk bottles, dehumidifiers, and other baby essentials, like bibs and nappy bags.
Will you find what you need in Baby Hyperstore? Only if you already know what you’re after or are interested in relatively uncommon brands of baby necessities.
You’d visit Baby Hyperstore if you’re looking to buy a specific brand of stroller that they carry. Anything else you might lay your eyes on appears to be there just because they’re a store selling baby products.

If you are driving to the Ubi baby shops, parking shouldn’t be a problem at Shun Li Industrial Park. However, you may have to park a distance away if you don’t find a lot right outside the store of your choice.
There are buses that will stop you right in front of Shun Li Industrial Park; otherwise, the closest MRT station is Kaki Bukit Station on the Downtown Line.
