Learning Journey Ideas in Singapore

Weekend Farm - Kok Fah Technology Farm

Gone are the days where our education system solely emphasised reading and memorising from the books. The benefits of a holistic education far outweigh one that only has learning in the classroom. One great way that students can have an out-of-the-classroom experience is through school learning journeys.

Learning Journey Ideas in Singapore

There are many great places in Singapore for kids to go on learning journeys. For starters, we’ve come up with a list of some locations where students can engage in hands-on learning.

Did you know that there are only two dragon kilns left in Singapore?

Want to learn more about them? Try going for a hands-on pottery class and Historical Dragon Kiln Tour at Thow Kwang Pottery!

Run by passionate pottery lover, Mrs Tan, and her staff, visitors will find that the pottery industry is more than just producing wares or firing a kiln. This highly-engaging learning journey location allows children to interact with clay, exercise their creativity and practise their motor skills, all while learning about ceramics.

A tour at Thow Kwang Pottery typically includes a visit to the dragon kiln, a demonstration of the potter’s wheel and a hands-on pottery-making session where children will get to glaze (paint) their master pieces which they can then collect in three to four weeks after it has been dried and fired.

Thow Kwang Pottery also runs activities such as family day events and individual workshops. More details can be found on their website.
