1. I Believe In Unicorns

School of the Arts Drama Theatre

Michael Morpurgo’s treasured story comes to life in this interactive production about bravery and the power of books. The tale centres on Tomas, a boy who hates school and reading, until the day his world is turned upside down when he meets the Unicorn Lady in his local library. Recommended for kids age six and above.


2. Introduction to Don Quixote by Singapore Dance Theatre

A lonely childless couple build a small figure from snow and brings a magical child to life through the strength of their longing. But raising a wild daughter of the blizzards isn’t easy, and what will happen when spring and summer comes?

4. Chinatown Festive Street Bazaar

Till 7 Feb, 6 pm to 10:30 pm (1 am on Chinese New Year’s Eve)


This weekend is your last chance to shop at this annual street fair, a signature event of Chinatown. Feast on mouthwatering delicacies while stocking up on treats for home, find decorative items and traditional clothing, or just enjoy the bright lights and festive vibe.

5. More Than Monkeys Exhibition

Till 25 Sep 2016, 10 am to 7 pm daily

Singapore Philatelic Museum

The museum marks the Year of the Monkey with this latest exhibition, which has over 300 stamps from all around the world showcasing the many kinds of primates found worldwide. Apart from interesting factoids accompanying the stamps, there are also fun little activities for kids, such as jigsaw and wordsearch puzzles, and reading famous monkey tales. Details here.

6. Gong SEA Fa Cai

S.E.A Aquarium, Resorts World Sentosa

To usher in the Year of the Monkey, the S.E.A Aquarium has lined up a host of special programmes to get you in the CNY mood while learning more about oceanic wonders. Follow the festive trail that will take you past stations like special touch pools and craft corners, go on a mission to find marine animal equivalents of the 12 zodiac, or catch the underwater dragon “dance” performed by divers.
