Istana Open House

It is a long weekend. Planning what to do this weeekend? Here are a selection of activities and events you can look forward to.

1. Istana Open House

17 July, 8.30 am to 6 pm
Istana

Head to the Istana grounds as it throws its gates open this Hari Raya Puasa. Enjoy Malay dance performances along with music by the Nan Chiau High School Wind Orchestra. There is also a new Spice Garden unveiled for the first time at the Hari Raya Istana Open House. Check out the 8 things to know before you visit the Istana Open House.

2. Explore the new Sentosa Line and Fort Siloso Skywalk

Opened from 14 July
Sentosa

The new Sentosa cable car line is open. Ride it to Siloso Point and experience the new Fort Siloso Skywalk. Entry to Fort Siloso is now free as well. From now till 10 August, Singaporeans and local residents can go on a guided tour around the Fort for free too.

3. Free Ice Skating for Students and Staff

Month of July for Primary School Children

In the month of July, take to the ice as The Rink is providing free skating admision to Primary School students and Staff. Limited to 800 skaters per day and not valid on 16, 17, 26 and 27 July. T&Cs apply.

4. Free Scoop Day at Marble Slab Creamery

18 July, 12 pm to 3 pm
Marble Slab Creamery at Star Vista, Clarke Quay Central, Bishan Junction 8 and Kallang Wave Mall

Celebrate with Marble Slab Creamery as they turn since and are offering a free scoop of ice cream to mark the day.

5. Disney on Classic – A Magical Night

16 to 17 July, 7.30 pm
Star Theatre

Experience Disney magic at this full-length concert showcasing beloved Disney tunes performed by a live orchestra while scenes from Disney’s animated films get project on a large cinematic screen. Find out more.

 

6. Former Tanjong Pajar Railway Station Open House

17 July, 9 am to 6 pm
Former Tanjong Pajar Railway Station

Visit the art decor building at the Former Tanjong Pajar Railway station when it opens to the public on Hari Raya Puasa.

10 July to 1 August
DBS Arts Centre, Home of SRT

Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story, The Ugly Duckling, gets a retelling – in Mandarin! Enjoy the magic of songs and puppetry in this enchanting play for young ones.

8. National Orchid Garden Promotion

10 July to 31 August
National Orchid Garden

Singapore Citizens, PRs, EP and WP holders get to enjoy free admission to the National Orchid Garden as part of the SG50 celebrations.

9. Kids Flix – The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water

18 July
11 am: GV Plaza, GV Jurong Point, GV Bishan, GV City Square, GV Tampines, GV Suntec City
11.30 am: GV Yishun, GV Katong, GV Grand (Great World City)

It is family time at the movies at Golden Village. This month, they will be screening The SpongBob Movie in their Kids Flix. More info here.

10. NParks Ride Safe Programme Movie Night

18 July, 7.30 pm
Parkland Green

Experience a movie under the stars at East Coast Park and catch the movie, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, at Parkland Green.

11. Band Fiesta at Gardens by the Bay

18 July, 4 pm to 7 pm
Golden Garden, Gardens by the Bay

School bands from all over Singapore bring their energy and music to Gardens by the Bay this Saturday.

12. Singapore STories: Then, Now, Tomorrow

17 July to 4 October
