Looking for things to do this weekend? Here is a selection of family-friendly events taking place on 18 & 19 April 2015.
1. The Eurasian Experience Tour
18 and 19 Apr, 5 pm to 6.30 pm
A collaboration between the Eurasian Association and Quentin’s Eurasian Restaurant, the Eurasian Community House will have various stations where visitors can find out more about Eurasian culture, including a guided tour, playing traditional games, jiving to some steps of an Eurasian folk dance and sampling an Eurasian delicacy.
2. Celebrate Bukit Panjang Public Library’s 17th Birthday
18 April, 12 pm to 4 pm

Celebrate Bukit Panjang Public Library’s 17th Birthday with games, story challenges, board games and learning simple crafts. Take part in the culture challenge, make your own board game and other simple crafts.

3. Safari Adventure in the West

Leave your fears at home and venture down to West Coast Plaza. Get ready for a wild time as you trail through the safari balloon display. Be enthralled by the different species of animals including a seven-metre tall giraffe!
4. Free Movie Screening: Walking With Dinosaurs

Patchi, the underdog dino, comes of age in a story set in a time when dinosaurs ruled the Earth.
5. Da Vinci’s Birthday Weekend
17 Apr to 19 Apr
Celebrate Da Vinci’s birthday! Get complimentary popcorn and balloons, and catch free movie screenings. Family-friendly tours are also available at 3.30 pm all weekend on 18 & 19 April, so bring your family along for a weekend of fun activities!
6. Carnival Faire of the World

Catch a mime act at 1 pm and a busker troupe at 6 pm and try your hand at funfair booths for a keepsake at Changi City Point.
7. Doodling for Life: Libraries of the Future
Tampines Regional Library
In this workshop, children and their parents share and exchange squiggled ideas, drawing inspiration from things that make Singapore unique, in order to design their dream library space. The pop art artworks will be added to a final grand masterpiece displayed at the library.
8. Cross Talk Play: The Teahouse
17 to 18 Apr
Drama Centre Theatre
Get immersed in the culture of the teahouse with a children’s cross talk performance at the Drama Centre. Presented, in Chinese, by the Young People’s Performaning Arts Ensemble.
9. Affordable Art Fair Spring Edition
17 to 19 Apr
F1 Pit Building
Back with 74 galleries filled with artwork for sale, it also features a Children’s Art Studio to encourage sense of play with for budding young artists.
10. SuperMom Carnival 2015
19 Apr, 4 pm to 9 pm
The Float @ Marina Bay
Mums get to enjoy a gourmet fest, beauty and pampering treatment while workshops and a wine tasting party have been planned for dads. There will also be an SG record-breaking event.
11. Double Bill of Music at the Shaw Foudation Symphony Stage
19 Apr, 4.30 pm
Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage
Danish a capella group, Basix, and the Przemek Strączek & Asian Strings Collective, will be entertaining the crowds at the park this Sunday.
