Madame Tussauds Singapore is set to provide Sentosa’s Imbiah Lookout an extra sparkle when it opens on Saturday, 25 October 2014.

Madame Tussauds Singapore will allow visitors to come up close to wax figures of their favourite celebrities and personalities. Famous names confirmed for Madame Tussauds Singapore include Johnny Depp, David Beckham and Lady Gaga. Some of Singapore’s highest achieving, most popular celebrities, as well as other Asian and international A-list celebrities will also be represented at the new attraction.

Wax figures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, also destined for the Madame Tussauds Singapore, arrived in Singapore last week, two months ahead of the launch.

Created in London, each waxwork figure took approximately three months to produce. Angelina’s hair required over four weeks’ work, with each strand of hair inserted individually using a forked needle. Brad’s hair was created in the same way. Angelina’s eyelashes were also inserted one by one, a delicate process that takes one week to ensure that each detail is perfect.

The Madame Tussauds Singapore will be the 20th Madame Tussauds attraction to open around the world. It will be split into different themed sections including World Leaders, History, Film, Sport, Music, and TV as well as a special A-List Party section.

The Spirit of Singapore boat ride will link the Madame Tussauds attraction with Images of Singapore LIVE, an existing attraction which is currently being updated. Together, the two attractions will be housed in the existing Images of Singapore building at Sentosa’s Imbiah Lookout, covering an area of 2,260 square metres.

Lily Lim, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Singapore said: “We are very excited to be opening Madame Tussauds Singapore. This is a world class attraction which draws millions of visitors every year and we have no doubt that it will appeal to both local Singaporeans and international tourists alike.”
