In this 2017 edition, the National Arts Council (NAC) presents the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) in the Civic District from 3–12 November with the theme ‘Aram’ (pronounced ah-ruhm). This year’s theme takes its inspiration from a word used in the ancient text - Thirukkural, widely revered as the most influential literary work in Tamil.
